im insane. ever since my winter break from college, i have been unhealthily obsessed with dc comics, specifically batman. you know him. he's the night. but more than him, specifically his gaggle of crime fighting orphans and friends.

not just batman, one of my favorite characters is actually billy batson, aka captain marvel or shazam. he's a kid that can turn into an adult sized superhero when he says the name of the wizard who gave him his powers, "shazam". you may know him from the fantastic 2019 and less fantastic 2023 movies he starred in.

my favorite batman ensemble character is damian wayne, bruce wayne's son. he was raised by his assassin mother and grandfather in the league of assassins, and only came to live with bruce when he was about 8 or 9. there are so many different stupid canons there are no facts about dc. its been rebooted a million different times and its stupid. but yet i am seated to read time and time again. i will fistfight anyone about him.

the true catalyst into my dc obsession was the danny phantom and dc crossover fandom. kinda weird yes but its a really really big fandom with some good content. i read one fic in one night, wanted: dead and alive, and was extremely intrigued. i had never even watched an episode of danny phantom, nor did i know anything about batmanother than what the average person knows. yes, i had watched the justice league cartoon in my youth, but i was very young and young justice made me too sad at ten so i stopped watching. teen titans go is not real dc you cant tell me it is. after reading that fic, some of it inside a grocery store, i knew i needed to get MORE. who are these dashing gentlemen from the wayne family? who the fuck is danny phantom? the dpxdc fandom has a very strange mix and match of canon, a lot of it is just plain wrong. like no, pit rage isnt a thing. tim is not a ceo. the general fandom misconceptions of the batclan are for another day but it extends to the regular dc fandom too. the tiktokification of it all from people who dont read the comics. anyway finishing that 120k fic in less than 12 hours made me insane. astereae on ao3 did cocomelon shit to me!!!!!

ever since then, my autism has been wired. i can't think of anything but batman. i get abnormally excited whenever its mentioned. i feel like a 30 year old man. I DON'T PLAY ABOUT DC!!!!!!!!!

damian wayne: my little guy. i will fistfight anyone who is racist towards him. he is not "savage" you stupid fucks hes a traumatized boy who only knows violence thrown into a new situation in an entirely new country. of course he lashes out and tests his limits! im his number one defender. also justice for nika flatline his girlfriend from robin 2021. i love her

stephanie brown: it is so hard being a fan of female dc characters. steph has endured more than jesus. her story is so tragic but shes so wonderful and bright. id kill for her no questions asked. they fridged her and im so mad about it still despite them giving her her whole batgirl run and new stuff to do. her writing in the 80s/90s was so deeply misogynistic. she was used for an anti abortion storyline, and then was the cause of hundreds of deaths, including her own. i will never get over steph and neither should you. i preferred her as batgirl as opposed to "spoiler" but i dont like her heavily associating with the batman group. like, batman is sort of her boss, but i like to think of it as more of a coordinated thing. batfam fandom isnt real it cant hurt you. the best panel ever is when steph slapped bruce. go white girl go
